His 1st Father's Day..

For Father's Day, Cody said that he didn't want any gifts but i couldn't do that because it was his 1st! So i made him something since Riley has not yet developed the motor skills to draw him a picture.. I had a hard time thinking of something. I didn't want to do the picture thing because i did that on mother's day with the 'Happy Mother's Day' sign and Riley. And i knew if i drew a picture with my left hand (i'm right handed and my left hand-writing looks like a 3 yr old did it) that he would just tell me i needed to get out of the house more often.. So i decided on iron-on letters! I thought about doing a t-shirt but i KNEW he would never wear it and it would be a total waste of money. Then i thought about how he likes to cook so i decided to decorate an apron. I wasn't sure what to put on there but this is what i came up with....
He said the rhinestones weren't his thing. But i thought it turned out cute...and he got something for father's day! (Daddy Bear is what we call him when we're talking to Riley.)
He also received a 'Happy First Father's Day' card, which both of them decided to chew on!

Our little piano player..

Everyone always looks at her hands and says "Oh look at those long fingers..she's going to be a piano player!" Well i have long fingers and i can bearly play 'Mary Had a Little Lamb'. But she may prove me wrong..
With the way her hair grows down the middle like a mohawk and the earrings, she looks like she could be part of a punk rock band.

I'm half a year old!!

I can't believe she's already 6 months old! I know people say this all the time... but i'm serious...its gone by so fast. Riley and i went to a friend's 1st birthday party the other day and it seemed like it took FOREVER for him to make it to his first birthday but it feels like i just had her the other day!!
So on to the monthly pictures.. She really likes to reach and grab these days. I sat her in the crib (oh by the way she can sit up on her own for the most part now), then i put the giraffe and note card next to her, and before i could raise the camera up she had the 'Six Months' sign in her mouth and a head-lock on mr. giraffe. It seriously took me 10 minutes to get a picture with her, the sign (to where it was legible), and the giraffe all in there. They aren't great by any means but hey you get the picture! (no pun intended)
At her 6 month check-up she weighed 16lbs. 14oz. but didn't grow any longer. You can tell this by the fat rolls on her legs. At the appointment her doctor told us to start feeding her 3 meals a day of baby food and a couple of "snack" bottles if needed. When she told me this i was like, "Oh wow i've been starving my child!" Because she was mostly on formula at that point and just about half a jar of baby food one time a day. So the next day after her appt i decided to try out this new meal plan. Well it was ok at first because this forced her to be on a schedule (which she's not very fond of), but she caught on quickly to what i was doing and refused to comply! You may be saying to yourself..."She's 6 months old, how could she refuse?!" But she does! She closes her mouth shut...i'm talking gums sealed tight...there's no getting in there! So now we're back to strictly formula. I sneak in a little baby food her and there. We will eventually move our way up to 3 meals a day but right now we're enjoying being baby-ed!

Riley's Baptism

Riley was Baptized this past Sunday (May 31, 2009). Almost all her family was there to see. Then we had a nice reception afterwards at the church in the Third Place Area. It was a good day! Here are some pics of the day...

She was on her best behavior that day. She didn't cry or fuss through the whole service! I couldn't believe it.

This is her beutiful dress that her Dranmaw bought her for her special day...

my mother's day gift...

So a while back i posted pics of my Mother's Day flowers and cards but i didn't have the gift yet. Here they are...
Didn't he do a great job?! I love them! If you can't tell by the picture, they have Riley and her birthday engraved in them.
