Our little piano player..
I'm half a year old!!
I can't believe she's already 6 months old! I know people say this all the time... but i'm serious...its gone by so fast. Riley and i went to a friend's 1st birthday party the other day and it seemed like it took FOREVER for him to make it to his first birthday but it feels like i just had her the other day!!
So on to the monthly pictures.. She really likes to reach and grab these days. I sat her in the crib (oh by the way she can sit up on her own for the most part now), then i put the giraffe and note card next to her, and before i could raise the camera up she had the 'Six Months' sign in her mouth and a head-lock on mr. giraffe. It seriously took me 10 minutes to get a picture with her, the sign (to where it was legible), and the giraffe all in there. They aren't great by any means but hey you get the picture! (no pun intended)
At her 6 month check-up she weighed 16lbs. 14oz. but didn't grow any longer. You can tell this by the fat rolls on her legs. At the appointment her doctor told us to start feeding her 3 meals a day of baby food and a couple of "snack" bottles if needed. When she told me this i was like, "Oh wow i've been starving my child!" Because she was mostly on formula at that point and just about half a jar of baby food one time a day. So the next day after her appt i decided to try out this new meal plan. Well it was ok at first because this forced her to be on a schedule (which she's not very fond of), but she caught on quickly to what i was doing and refused to comply! You may be saying to yourself..."She's 6 months old, how could she refuse?!" But she does! She closes her mouth shut...i'm talking gums sealed tight...there's no getting in there! So now we're back to strictly formula. I sneak in a little baby food her and there. We will eventually move our way up to 3 meals a day but right now we're enjoying being baby-ed!
